The Onion Light originated in the New England Cape Cod area. The soldered wire guard protected the hand-blown glass from the frequent "NorEaster's" that batter the New England coasts. The lanterns are a popular choice for interior and exterior applications. The Hyannis Light with its pear-shaped glass updates the traditional onion light with a modern flare.
