SUSTAINABLE COPPER AND BRASS IN LIGHTING FIXTURES
Sustainable copper and brass in lighting fixtures is environmentally friendly. The Copper Lantern is committed to building a cleaner, brighter future. Using sustainable materials has many benefits to the environment. Copper and brass lanterns can be repaired, repurposed, recycled and reused. By building a stronger, more durable lantern we are being good stewards of the environment. The Copper Lantern believes in building a high-quality product while our artisans add visual appeal for today’s interior and exterior design.
The Copper Lantern uses strong gauge copper and brass in all its lanterns. Our structural supports are solid brass. The strength of solid brass structural supports withstand damage due to storms and stand up to corrosive environmental elements. Most of our competition use aluminum or steel. These metals will cause fixtures to sag or fall off walls. The Copper Lantern solders all joints, never punch riveted which leads to failure. When using gas, The Copper Lantern uses tempered glass and silver solder for extra strength and durability. The tempered glass stands up to heat and won’t crack. The silver solder withstands heat far better than lead solder. All these details will prevent our fixtures from landing up in a landfill. Fixtures made of aluminum or steel will deteriorate quickly and will need to be replaced within 5 years. If our fixtures are damaged, they can be repaired. Our designs are never discontinued.
The Copper Lantern is energy friendly too. All our lanterns can be outfitted with LED option. LED is extremely efficient; it consumes up to 90% less power than incandescent lighting. Most of our lanterns can be converted to gas. Solar and geothermal energy is increasingly being used by eco-friendly hotels as well as today’s contemporary homes. Green energy combined with sustainable copper or brass combined with longevity and artisan detail make The Copper Lantern an easy choice when selecting your next projects lighting needs that will in-turn lessen our impact on the environment. Lighting is necessary. Why not make it aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly at the same time?
Sustainable materials such as copper and brass are put to effective use, in the present, without compromising the availability of copper or brass for use by later generations. Sustainable copper and brass can be reclaimed and recycled. The Copper Lantern uses 100% solid copper with no added alloys or other metals. All our structural supports are cast brass, not iron or steel or aluminum or tin. Our lanterns are built to last a lifetime, they can be repaired and reused.
